THE SIX EVENTS OF TOURNAMENT

 

 

 

The Medieval Tournament appearing suddenly from the mists of times

 

 

       For fulfiling the meeting between the Traditional Martial Arts and the History, our Department of Võ-Trận Đại-Việt establishes the « Armoured Medieval Tournament » including the « Six Events of Tournament » inspired by the « Rules of Ðại-Việt Medieval Military Examination » from LÝ Dynasty (1009-1225) and TRẦN Dynasty (1225-1413), above all from Posteriors-LÊ Dynasty, in the times of Lord Trịnh-Giang (1729-1740) :

1 – Archery Event

1a – Pedestrian Archery :
Demonstration of Archery's Codified Sequences
(Thiết-Thai Cung ; Chấn-Thiên cung ; Xuyên-Tiễn Cung)

1b – Equestrian Archery :
Bách-Bộ Xuyên Kim-Tiền
(To Shoot Targets over a distance of 100 Steps at gallop)

 

 

 

 

 

2 – Blade-Breaker Wielding Event

2a – On Foot Fighting :
To Wield the Blade-Breaker in Martial Clothing
To Wield the Blade-Breaker in Armour

2b – On Horseback :
To Break Pikes by galloping in Martial Clothing
To Break Pikes by galloping in Armour

 

 

 

 

3 – Sword Wielding Event

3a – On Foot Fighting :
To Wield Sword and Shield in Martial Clothing
To Wield Sword and Shield in Armour

3b – On Horseback :
To Wield Sword and Shield in Martial Clothing

4 – Spear Wielding Event / Javelin Throwing Event
