THE TWO MATCHED SWORDS

双劍
The « Two Matched Swords - Song-Kiếm » ( 双 劍 ), appeared since Eastern-HOU-Orientaux - Đông-Châu period (771~246 av.JC), as soon as when the Pertuisane-Mâu Bronze Blade was forged. That was the category of Two Matched Sword in Bronze holding a short dual-edged blade.

Later, the Blade of the « Two Matched Swords - Song-Kiếm » ( 双 劍 ) was forged with a greater length and includes two categories :
1 -The Two Matched Swords with Dual Edge : it's the Category of the Two Matched Swords holding a Straight Blade and it is divided into Two Kinds :
A - The Two Matched Swords having Two Pendants with Tassel - called Tuệ-Kiếm (彗 劍) - fixed to the Pommel and according to the length of these Sword-Pendants we distinguish it into :
a) Two Matched Swords with Short Tassel Tiebacks - Đoản-Tuệ Song-Kiếm ;
b) Two Matched Swords with Long Tassel Tiebacks - Trường-Tuệ Song-Kiếm.

arranging opposite each other in the same scabbard
and having Short Double Tassel Tiebacks.

B - La Two Matched Swords having no Two Sword Pendants with Tassel.

and having no Sword Pendants with Tassel,
arranging opposite each other in the same scabbard
with stylized character Longevity Thọ 夀
engraved on the pommel and the scabbard,
according to the specific decoration from Việt-Nam.

2 - The Two Matched Swords with Single Edge : it's the Category of the specific Two Matched Sword of Đại-Việt.
« Steel Two Matched Swords » Blades with Single Edge,
and having a Raised Pointe (Câu-Kiếm-Phong 鉤 劍 鋒),
with Ricasso in " V " shaped, specific from Đại-Việt.
